Many nanomaterials are handled in the form of powders, which means that we need to be able to assess the various risks associated with their handling and storage. Traditional studies on assessing the explosion and flammability risks of powders have, however, mainly focused on micrometer-sized materials, which is insufficient for assessing the risks of nanopowders.
