ISO-G-scope

The diversity of qualities and therefore performance levels of graphene on the market today is an obstacle to the full acceptance of this 2D material, and therefore to the development of innovations in numerous sectors (healthcare, sensors, composites, batteries, semiconductors, etc.).

Funded under the Pre-Normative calls for projects of the European metrology research program EMPIR, the project ISO-G-scope (Standardization of structural and chemical properties of graphene) aims to develop reliable, harmonized measurement methods for characterizing the structural properties (thickness and lateral dimensions of flakes) and chemical properties of graphene, graphene oxide and functionalized graphene (N-, O- and F-). Three draft standards ISO are linked to this project. In parallel, a feasibility study to produce a certified reference material is also being carried out.
