The MENBAT project (2021-2024) aims to study nanoparticle emissions from nano-additivated products (e.g. TiO2-containing paints) under realistic mechanical stresses (use of commercially-available sanding and drilling machines/tools), taking into account the potential impact of product aging.
The aim of this project, coordinated by CSTB with contributions from LNE and CEA (Plateforme de NanoSécurité / Grenoble), is to better estimate and control exposure to these pollutants in indoor environments in different situations, while evaluating existing pollutant reduction systems. It will provide support for players in the building sector, via the production of two guides, respectively on measurement strategies for assessing exposure to nanomaterials in the building sector, and on prevention in the workplace.
