NanoHarmony

The European NanoHarmony project, funded by Horizon 2020 since 2020, brings together 14 expert partners from 10 European countries and works alongside theOECD and ECHA to accelerate the development of priority guidelines and guidance documents for nanomaterials.

In particular, it targets eight parameters for which test methods adapted to nanomaterials have been identified as a regulatory priority (notably in the context of REACh). NanoHarmony coordinates the collection and use of available data and information to support the finalization of the development of harmonized test methods and to organize a sustainable network enabling the necessary exchanges between the various stakeholders (laboratories, government agencies & ministries, industry...) and the identification of future needs in terms of regulatory development. This is reflected in an active contribution to the Malta Initiative launched in 2017 and the desire to build a European strategy for test methods.
