Successful REACh & nanomaterials day

Following the success of last May's event on the correct identification of Nanomaterials within a regulatory framework, the NanoMesureFrance Association, in collaboration with LNE, organized a one-day event on December 07, dedicated to the regulatory requirements of REACh on nanoforms, with the key issue being the production of reliable, comparable data.

The day brought together key players in the field at European level to share information and address regulatory issues around REACh and the French register R-NanoWe'll also be looking at the test methods to be used (or harmonized), and the players to be called on to produce the expected data.

The 65 participants, mostly from industry, were able to exchange views with representatives of the French (DGPR & Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire - Anses) and European (European Chemicals Agency) authorities, while benefiting from feedback from industry, testing laboratories, OECD and other organizations.OECD).

Two round-table discussions also provided an opportunity to share views on what needs to be done to accelerate the availability of validated and reliable testing methods, and the emergence of a "pool" of competent and recognized laboratories serving industry and safe, responsible innovation.

A number of avenues have been identified for progress on these issues, and the NanoMesureFrance Association will be pursuing its actions to support all stakeholders in addressing them.
