RENAAME

The RENAAME (RElargage de Nano-objets, leurs Agrégats et Agglomérats depuis les MasquEs) project aims to develop and pre-standardize a test methodology for assessing the potential aerosol-phase release of NOAA in the case of masks for which nanomaterials may be declared or involved in their manufacture (TiO2 and Ag). Coordinated by LNE and benefiting from the expertise and resources of two laboratories recognized in the field (SCIENSANO and INRS), the RENAAME project aims to develop a strategy for classifying masks according to their emissive power, and to assess possible inhalation exposure under realistic conditions of use.

This methodological approach will be made available to regulatory authorities, standardization bodies and manufacturers wishing to develop filter materials that are virtuous in terms of this risk of emissions to the environment. NOAA.
This 3-year project, due to start in November 2022, is funded by ANSES's Programme National de Recherche Environnement Santé-Travail, with support from the French Ministries of the Environment, Agriculture and Labor (ANSES-22-EST-023).
